In a race filled with pit stops and drivers struggling with grip, Lewis Hamilton showcased yet another masterclass. He surely has found his mojo back after a disastrous start to the season in Austrian Grand Prix.

Lewis Hamilton demolished the opponents in the Hungarian Grand Prix to secure his eighth win at the Hungaroring. With this victory, the British star equalled Michael Schumacher’s record of most wins at a single venue. The triumph also meant that he now tops the leader board of the driver’s championship. Hamilton lapped everyone up to sixth-placed Vettel, proves his sheer dominance.

The Mercedes driver hardly had any threat from the opponents, finishing nearly 9 seconds clear of second-placed Max Verstappen. He also bagged the bonus point for the fastest lap.

It was quite an eventful race for Max Verstappen who got it wrong on the kerbs on his way to the grid and crashed into the barrier, causing damage to his front wing. Incredibly the Red Bull mechanics were able to get the repair work completed just in time for the Dutchman.

Valtteri Bottas, on the other hand, had a poor first lap. He jumped the start, and from then was flying, making it difficult for Verstappen to keep his position intact throughout the race. Verstappen did wonderfully well to keep Bottas at bay. The Red Bull driver secured second place while Bottas had to satisfy with P3.

In the midfield though, things were a bit more intense. Ferrari struggled yet again after having a great start. The team’s decision to change Leclerc to soft tyres in lap 2 was a total disaster which was the prime reason why he finished 11th. Vettel pitted at the end of lap 3 and was caught in the mid of traffic to lose seven seconds in the pit lane. Vettel, however, recovered well before making a mistake late in the race to hand Albon fifth place with the Ferrari driver finishing sixth.

The Racing Point had a frustrating outing, after securing the second row in qualifying. Sergio Perez slipped down to seventh, while Lance Stroll dropped to fourth.

Alex Albon (Red Bull) drove superbly to jump from 13th place to finish fifth. Daniel Ricciardo (Renault), Kevin Magnusson (Haas) and Carlos Sainz (McLaren) completed the top ten.

Magnussen’s two points were Haas’ first of the championship. Williams was unable to covert its qualifying performance into points, with Russell at P18 and Latifi P19. Pierre Gasly was the only retirement of the race due to engine problem.
